Two Step Tin / Lead
Stripper
|
Description:
|
|
DURASTRIP TLS-140 is
a two-part stripper designed to strip tin/lead in two separate steps.
Part A removes the lead, leaving tin intermetallilc at eh copper
/ tin interface, and Part B removes the tin leaving a bright, clean
copper surface that is resistant to oxidation and ideal for optical
inspection.
|
Benefits:
|
- Broad operating latitude.
- Fast and predictable
- High load factors
- Minimal sludging

Directions For Use:
|
|
Part A
Make-up: As
received
Temperature: 70°F
to 80° F
*Time: 3
- 5 minutes or as required
Agitation: None
required
Operation: Immersion
only. Do not spray
Part B
Make-up:
50% by volume
Temperature: 70°F
to 80° F
*Time: 3
- 5 minutes or as required
Agitation: Recommended
Operation: Immersion
only. Do not spray
Rinsing: Rinsing is
required between steps A and B and after Part B.
*Stripping rate is dependent
on thickness of the tin/lead deposit and its' age, and the saturation
level of the baths. Fresh baths are always faster than those that
are nearly spent.
|
Equipment:
|
|
TANKS: polypropylene,
PVC, PVDC, fiberglass
HEATERS: Teflon Coated,
quartz (if needed)
EXHAUST VENTILATION:
Recommended
RACKS: 316 Stainless
Steel plactisol coated preferred
|
Maintenance:
|
|
Keep tanks covered when
not in use. Replace dragout with fresh solution; replace evaporation
with D.I. water.
|
Control:
|
|
No analysis is required.
Control is by visual observation of stripping rate. When stripping
times for either Part A or Part B slow to unacceptable levels it
is time to replace the baths.
|
